My current house sit. This one is located in the Thames township. I arrived here on the evening of February 14th. It’s a compact and cosy 1950s house with a brand new sun deck, and with some other exterior renovations in progress. The pets consist of a couple nice kitty cats who go by the names of Smokey and Blue. Smokey is a super friendly purring machine and she has been my shadow pretty much from day one. Blue’s a bit on the shy side. He was originally a stray who the owners took in, but he’s definitely getting quieter, and he cruises in and cruises out nonchalant.
My car has been getting a nice little rest while I’ve been here, with Pak ‘n’ Save only a 20 minute stroll away. And it’s a quick five minutes to the shore. The long grass beside the house is not a hay paddock, it belongs to a vacant section next door that needs a good mow. It just looks like a hay paddock. I’m here until Saturday then it’s across the road, up the hill a bit, and straight on to the next place.

February 28 2025 at 8:19 PMI’ve done a sit in Thames before! Such a lovely town, and so walkable. Sounds like you have a great setup with friendly pets too.

February 28 2025 at 10:41 AMI know that type of cat dynamic well—one clingy and one independent. It’s always fun to see how their personalities evolve during a sit.

February 27 2025 at 1:19 PMYour transition to the next sit sounds super easy! Do you usually line them up so close to each other or was this just good timing?

March 1 2025 at 7:27 AMI try to work it so once I’ve finished a sit I go straight on to the next one. The fact that the next place is only about 1km away from this one was pretty much just luck.
